The number of mobile handsets in use in Japan rose to 97 million with a penetration rate of almost 80% of the population, the market is said to be saturated and matured. However, more and more high-end models have been developed in the mobile-phone market, and the market has been activated by M&A activities and/or new entrants. In such business environment, we will expand the operating base and maximize the corporate value by concentrating our managerial resources on the telecommunication and its related businesses.
Since we have sales and marketing channels not only for mobile phones but also for fixed landlines, we will pursue the possibility for new telecommunication network through the maximization of our business areas where we can expect a greater synergy with our core business.
